Statement
Las formas, los colores y las texturas, llevan años rondando por mi mente. En ciertos momentos, o antes de ir a dormir, al cerrar los ojos, podía distinguirlas y se repetían durante el tiempo de forma sucesiva. Éstas, siempre estuvieron ahí, no les di mayor importancia; solo me entretenía observándolas.
Me crié en una cultura marcada por la religión y la imposición a la creencia. Una sociedad que no nos permite crecer como individuos. Mi deseo de romper todo lo establecido y buscar un yo más auténtico, se refleja en algunas de mis obras.
Viví durante años en la ciudad de Toledo. Su idiosincrasia alimentó mi total rechazo a la cultura judeocristiana, así como otras experiencias personales vividas.
Sin embargo, la belleza de sus calles y arquitectura han sido, a posterior, una gran fuente de inspiración.
Mi curiosidad plástica, en parte despertada gracias a mi madre pintora, me ha llevado a asistir con frecuencia a museos y exposiciones, especialmente en la época en la que viví en Madrid. De forma regular acudía a las sesiones del Prado, Reina Sofía, Palacio Velázquez... para maravillarme una y otra vez con sus obras.
Actualmente comparto estudio con Paoletta Balemelli, cuya visión creativa es una gran fuente de inspiración. Juntos exploramos distintas disciplinas artísticas y filosofía, buscando nuevas formas de interpretar el mundo a través del arte.
Shapes, colors and textures have been haunting my mind for years.
At certain times, or before going to sleep, when I closed my eyes, I could distinguish them and they were repeated successively over time. They were always there, I didn't give them much importance; I just entertained myself by observing them.
I grew up in a culture marked by religion and belief systems. A society that does not allow us to grow as individuals. My desire to break out of preset moulds and search for a more authentic self, is reflected in some of my works.
I lived for years in the city of Toledo. Its idiosyncrasy fueled my total rejection towards the Jewish Christian culture, as well as other personal experiences. However, the beauty of its streets and architecture have been, afterwards, a great source of inspiration.
My artistic curiosity, partly awakened by my painter mother, have got me to frequently go to museums and exhibitions, especially during the time I lived in Madrid. I regularly attended the sessions at the Prado, Reina Sofía, Palacio Velázquez... to wonder again and again at their works.
I share a studio with Paoletta Balemelli, where her creative vision serves as a constant source of inspiration. Together, we integrate various artistic disciplines and philosophical perspectives, exploring new ways to interpret the world through art.
